CheekZ wasn’t born in a boardroom—it started in the quiet hours of the night, with a man we’ll call John.
John’s wife loved him dearly, but she also desperately needed her sleep. Every night, she doubled up his diapers so they could both rest without worrying about leaks. After meeting John, I met many more “Johns” with the same struggle. Some wore two diapers at once. Some tucked extra feminine pads inside. Everyone was trying to make it through the night without accidents, but these workarounds came at a cost—rashes, infections, and pressure sores.
And then there were clients with mobility challenges—like one woman who refused to let anyone help her change. She didn’t want to be disturbed every 3–4 hours, so she would sit in her own urine for hours, saturating her armchair. The result? Frequent urinary tract infections, painful rashes, and a loss of comfort and dignity that no one should have to endure.
This wasn’t just about leakage. It was about dignity. It was about sleep. It was about feeling human.
I had spent years in home care and nursing, side-by-side with clients and families facing incontinence every single day. I saw the frustration when products failed, the embarrassment when confidence slipped away, and the toll it took on both the person and their loved ones.
And here’s something else I learned—words matter. Calling them “diapers” for adults feels childish and debilitating. That language alone can strip away a person’s sense of maturity and self-respect. That’s why we’re changing the name forever. From now on, they’re not “adult diapers.” They’re CheekZ—adult protective undergarments designed for dignity, comfort, and confidence.
